California Title 24 |
In the past 20 years California’s population growth has equated to the entire population of Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. The energy consumption in California has led to “brown outs” all across the state. California legislators had to start looking at the building envelope to reduce energy strain. Quite simply, Title 24 is California’s answer to “greener” building envelopes; reducing overall energy consumption. This highly effective initiative has yielded a favorable reduction in per capita energy usage. Stevens Roofing Systems fits perfectly with the most recent revisions to Section 118 of Title 24; requiring all commercial roofs to meet a baseline value of .70 for solar reflectance and .75 for thermal emittance. White Stevens EP™ (TPO), Stevens EV® (Elvaloy HP) and Stevens Hypalon® (CSPE) exceed these criteria by a wide margin therefore reducing the overall operating cost of any building. |
